Default b18b turbocharged anyone?

hey i was looking at my 2003 february issue of SCC and there is a 93 hatch that has a b18b turbocharged set up and it runs 11's, so they say, and probably could handle good too, all in one isn't it great, well anyway i just want to know if you guys have a hybrid set up like this and how hard would this swap be and can you really hit times like that with the this engine and turbo plus all the internals and such, well thanks for checking this out ,later

Hey. i think i read that issue too. Well anywayz i own a 89 CRX DX and i did a B18A LS swap and turbo charged it. I'm using a T3 turbo right now. The motor has stock internals. I know i could hit 11's with my motor built, bigger turbo and slicks. I havn't ran my car yet. I know ill hit mid 12's with 10-12psi. This swap is easy to put into any CRX or 88-99 civic. peace.

Yes it is true. The person/persons in question, happen to be HT members too. B18B swap into a 5th gen is so easy a blindfolded monkey could do it...

nice, thanks, hey i was reading up about how much fuel delivery was so important for running a turbo, where is a good place to read on what fuel delivery things you will need to run a turbo and keep it strong?

Is it a red hatch? If it is, it probably belongs to someone here on this board. I forgot their member name, but there was a thread about it a few weeks back speaking about it's times and set up.

My old turbo B20 setup, before I went H22. It was a fast setup, even with only 6 lbs of boost. On the drag strip, after lots of practice runs (traction is the key here), and with 12 lbs of boost, I ran a 11.6 @ 118 mph before they booted me off the track (no cage) and that was on 13" Bogarts w/22x7x13 slicks, running off the downpipe and stock internals w/GSR tranny. I'm not saying that running into the 11s is impossible but it's certainly not easy. That was after 8 or so passes and the first one was a meager 12.6 sec time with the same setup, so obviously driver skill has a lot to do with it.

With that similar setup, I'd be kind of scared to take it onto the road course because even with 6 lbs on the T3/TD04E turbo, the car would just light the tires up at 4500 rpms at full throttle. Coming out of a turn and giving it gas, and as soon as the turbo spools up quickly and spins the tires..... well, it wouldn't be a fun. FYI, driving a H22 Civic on the road course is much easier and handles better IMO.

As for how hard of a swap it was, exactly like a turbo LS setup.... same parts, same block size, etc.

i was think h22a, but without power steering how will it handle???? that would be nice to have a h22a all motor ,i'm into road courses, not into draging but would like to be able to put nice times up, but i'm more road course, i talked to a guy that has a h22a in his 98 civic coupe and he says it handles good, so anyone out there want to give me some info??? thanks guys

the 93 hatch in the SCC mag is a girl named Shami, Jason a.k.a. "st00pid" was the one who built/tuned it... And yes it has ran 11's on BF-g drag radials if i am correct with 20psi and a 35 shot of nitrous on a t3/t04b turbo.

Everything jason does seems to amaise me, he broke shami's hatch into 11's on basicly a stock LS motor and broke a b16a civic si into 10's on a mildly built motor with full interior and back in the day when i posted on Superhonda St00pid had his 10 second daily driven Eg, cant forget that, that was like 2-3 years ago at least..
