Default b18b swap or d16y8 turbo...help with my options please...

Hi guys...i am really undecisive right now..on my options....I am torn between getting an 01 b18b engine with 16,000 miles on it..or going with a greddy turbo kit on my d16y8 with 45,000 miles on it....i know with the swap..i would be a lot slower than my turboed d16y8..but i will have more potential with it later....i just can't decide right now..i need a little help on opinions...what i am really looking for is everyone's response to either...i already know the b18 has good low and midrange torque..but is there anything else..like good stock 1/4 mile times....This is going into a 00 civic coupe..if you guyz are wondering..my current 1/4 time is a 16.4 with the d16y8 i/h/e...let me know guys...b18b or boost the damn d16....

Khoi

P.S only have the money to do one thing right now......its either swap LS or boost d16...and the mods dont' end afterwards whether with the d16 or b18...there's always room to upgrade..hehe

How much would you spend on the LS swap and how much is the turbo kit going to run you?

well..i will eventually either go LSVTEC or go forced induction..too far ahead....both either getting a turboed d16y8 or the b18b swap..will run me the same in cost..

I say go B18B, you'll have more potential in the end. More torque etc. After driving a Type R Teg, I was like , So much more torque than my D16Y8 could ever put out. B18B

actually a d16 turbo will put out way more torque then a b18b, unless of course you boost the b18b

d16/b00st3d vs b18b , no contest

how much does a b18b swap run? 2,000? 2,500? that much you have a boosted d16 laying down more hp&trq for the same amount of money, if not less.

DEFINITELY B18. More potential, true, the turbo motor will have more torque/HP But ALL in the top end, nuthing till boost. (And i mean nuthin) Get the LS, run high 15's for a while then scrounge up for a basic LS_VTEC (type R pistons, ARP rod bolts, b16 head) With Boltons that setup makes 185 Horsepower to the wheels, plus solid torque through the whole RPM band. Cant match that with a d turbo. (Im geting mine as soon as i can get 1800 bux, converting my b16a1 to LS-Vtec)
