b18b head onto b18a block help!!
I know that the b18b head bolts up to the b18a block. I already know the b18a block bolts up to 95-up integras. I even called some local performance shops in the NYC area and they confirmed.
I bought a 91 LS motor and my mechanic stripped off the head getting ready to install. Now my problem is that my mechanic does't know too much about honda swaps, and today he tells me that the oil pump is different and there is a circular vent (coverd by a black box) at the rear of the b18b block that the b18a doesn't have.
Can I just switch the oil pump from the b18b onto the b18a block?
Can I plug the vent or is there no way in getting around this?
I'm really trying to avoid shelling out more cash for a b18b motor, so if anyone knows how to get around this problem, please help a brother out.

You should be able to swap the oil pump. As for the "vent", B18A's have a breather canister on the back of the block into which crankcase pressure is vented, and the PCV valve is on top of that canister. The PCV valve on B18B's is mounted directly to the back of the valve cover, so there's no breather canister. If you're running a B18A block with a B18B head, you can either run the PCV from the breather canister or from the valvecover. If You have an extra port on the intake manifold, hell, run both. Or, plug one, and run the other, it's totall up to you.
