b18a into 92 civic hatch?
I just helped a friend do b16a2 conversion in his 97 dx civic , and my other friend is interested in putting the b18a1 in his civic hatch . We have the engine ,tranny, harness, ecu, and axels . Is this swap a drop in or do we need mounts etc . I searched around about this but got tired of searching . Any help would be great. Thanks alot .

you said 92 hatch right?
you also said b18a1 right? 91-93 ls motor...
do you have the mounts for the b18a1 alrdy?
It should be a complete drop in if you have the motor mounts, but if I am wrong someone else will point you in the right direction

i believe you'll need to swap trannies w/ either a b18b or another any other b series hydrolic (sp?) clutch. that is if you are swapping in to an eg. anyways i belive im correct.

It's not a direct bolt-in. If you plan to use the B18A1 complete, then you'll need a HASport mount kit and hydro to cable conversion kit. If the motor is from a 92-93 you're in luck since it'll be OBDI. But if it's from a 90-91 then you will need to get an adapter harness OBDI-OBD0 (if they make one of those) and some rewiring to make it work.
The best thing to do would be to get a hydro B series tranny, upgrade to OBDI electronics and swap out the rear bracket and driver's side mount and bracket to a 94-01 Integra.
Either way you look at it, it's really not worth the $ or effort to drop a B18A1 into a 92+ chassis for the minimal gains that you are going to get. If you go the hydro tranny route and possibly use the block to build an LSVTEC or boost it that's one thing.
