B18 in EG ==> hood hits valve cover

Im going to say its the sol mount as well.
If after that, before I would cut, Id raise the rear of the hood. You could lower under hood temps as well as preventing structural weakening of the hood (not that its significant though).
People may say 'bandwagon' but it does serve a function and in your case, possibly 2.

Re: (pdiggitydogg)
Thanks for all of the replies guys. It looks like everyone that has used integra mounts didn't have any clearance issues, so I think I'll try that. It's not really a huge deal if I need to cut away a bit of the shell under the hood (it already has the dreaded "giant dent" in the middle) but I would rather fix the problem than work around it.
As for where the hood hits, I'm a little unsure. I haven't checked from underneath, but it feels like maybe the front left corner of the valve cover.
Does anyone know if I can just buy the integra bracket and use the Sol's rubber part on that? If anyone could compare the length of the bracket part for me it would be much appreciated (the part that bolts to the block)...

Re: ((Civic_Duty))
Alot of times you'll have rub problems if the stock mounts are worn causing engine movement during shifts or aggresive driving. If the engine hits the hood just shutting it then you have another problem. All the swaps i've done or helped with have never had a problem.

Re: (nsxmatt)
All of my mounts are new or like new condition. I made sure to buy the required mounts in very good condition, and replaced the other ones too.

teg mounts for everything that bolts to the engine/trans; civic rubber for the lower left, right, and rear. i have a vented hood and it doesn't touch, nor did it with my stock one.

Bumping an old thread, but it's not like most of HT isn't dead anyway.
1992 Honda Civic VX
B18C1
New Hasport DCSTK mounts
Lower right corner of the VC is rubbing on the hood. I believe this is happening because the structural support (skeleton or frame) of the hood has partially separated from the hood itself. It wasn't a problem with the original D.
Not a big concern other than the excessive vibration to the hood caused by the 70a mounts.

Re: B18 in EG ==> hood hits valve cover
The DOHC engines, especially the 1.8L VTEC ones have much wider valve covers meaning that the corner that you are describing is closer to the front of the car, and thus, meets the hood at a lower point where the hood curves down toward the latch area. Cutting away the small amount of the hood under structure a few inches in either direction from the point of contact will cure your problem.
