Hey ekb16, would you say normal operating temps is about 1/3 on the temp gauge? how about when you hammer on the motor, how hot does it get?

I have a B18C in my 6th gen EX with the stock radiator and haven't had any issues with over-heating. I have an oil temperature gauge though and have noticed that in stop and go traffic during a hot summer day, it's climbed up to 220 - 230 degrees though. On a regular day, it'll get up to about 205 degrees in stop and go. If I'm cruising in light traffic, 180 degrees.

Hey Zeqs... unfortunately i dont have a temperature gauge other than the stock one on the cluster, but the thing as I mentioned before is my heat doesnt climb or fall, it always sits at 55%... really the ONLY time it will slightly drop is when im on the freeway and theres more cooling so it may drop to 50%. But in normal stop and go traffic the temp will never move from 55%, it will just consistently stay there, no rise or fall...

when i had my d series the temp gauge would always stay in the middle or below alittle bit but now that i have my b18c in there, i still dont really see any diff even when i hammer on it..maybe bcuzz i dont hammer on it alot i mainly just cruz...i prob only hit vtec once every few months or so

i ran my h22 for about 6 months with my stock d16z6 radiator and it worked fine, never had an over heating issue even at the track on a hot day after a few passes. got a fluidyne raidator and mishimoto thin fan recently and temp went down a little. i think you should be fine. if ur havin problems think about swapin out water pump, and thermostat.

Hey CivicSH, thnx for the reply. So Ive concluded its definitely something up with something, but not sure what. I posted some new tests on my actual thread:

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/2237981

Dont think its my water pump/thermostat... they should be working fine. The lower rad hose is hot like the top rad hose, and there is pressure in both so the thermostat is opening and working fine...

no prob, well don't know what tell yea besides the crappy way of diagnosing things, which is just by replacing. you could try aluminum radiator and new fan but i doubt thats gonna help yea much. also i don't know how much a real temp gauge would run yea but you might look into that since the stock ones aren't exactly scientific. try diffrent oils, and water/coolant ratio's too who knows
