Default B16A1 Idling at 3,000RPM ? ? ?

Okay check this out there is no engine codes poping up and everything is hooked up right. Everytime I crank up the car it does this idle rise up to 3,000 RPMs and it stays there. Its buggin me. What could be the problem. I'm thinking its the IAC valve, but what else could cause this type of problem?

did you check the screw located on the intake manifold..
its used to adjust your idle, check to see if its been turned too much, all you have to do is turn it back

Well after I played with the screw on the intake manifold, the idle went down to 2,000 rpms but it didn't after that. What else could it be? Can it be my vaccum lines? I doubled checked that a bunch. Still confused why it does this.

iacv or fast idle thermo valve.

do you have enough coolant in your system?
also check to make sure the TB isn't stuck open

Now it only idles at 2,000 RPMs after I played with screw on the throttle body. But when I drive it the idle drops to 1,000 RPMs. After I let go off the clutch and gas it rises back to 2,000 RPMs. Coolant is there. Also where is the iacv or fast idle thermo valve located at?

More than likely its your fast idle valve, located underneath throttlebody. To find out for sure do this; let your car warm up to operating temperature, remove intake tube, you'll see two ports, cover up the lower one, if there's any change in RPM its the fast idle valve. Mine did the same thing.

Something that's easily overlooked....
Make sure the throttle cable is not too tight, in other words holding the throttle open.

OK after getting a IAC valve and replacing it. The idle now changes from start up. From start up the idle jumps up to 2,500 RPMs and then after a few minutes it drops down to a little below 2,000 RPMs and after a minute or so it jumps up back to 2,500 RPMs again and the same process over. Even when the engine is warmed up with the radiator fan kicking on. Could it still be the IAC valve or could it be something else ? Its confusing me. I haven't run into something like this.

check the fast idle thermo valve.
under the t-body.
take it out, shake it and if it rattles then take the cover off and screw the little white plastic piece in there. It probably just came loose.
hope this helps

What if its not the fast idle thermo valve? What else could it be? Just checking before I do something?
