B16a w/ S2 Stage 1, what ecu for 8500rpm?
I'll be using ITR valvetrain parts and CTR pistons. Should I go the Hondata route (OBD I changeover and stage II) or should I chip the PWO I have and use a V-AFC for fuel tuning?

hondata would be about the same amount as chipping and buying the v-afc. but you would have better control of fuel /timing....the hondata might even be cheaper.

the older PW0/PR3 doesn;t really benefit all that much from the hondata unit. just chip it and save your money. there is no real need for the VAFC either.
