B16a or LS/VTEC: Best choice for EG
I'm new to Civics and swaps, so i'm wondering what engine people are running and getting the best results with.
I can either get a full B16a from Hmotors or build an LS/VTEC from a B18a block and a head.
If LS/VTEC is a good way to go, what head works best?
This will be my daily driver, and I may turbocharge in the future.
Thanks for answering the n00b question!

ehh B16A if you plan to turbo and want a reliable engine...
or you can just save up and buy an ITR motor which would probably cost the same as a semi-built LS/VTEC..

Thanks, yes, it's a toss up with torque and power. GSR and ITR motors are just so pricey though...
What other advice does anyone have?

well I would look for a salvaged car or someone selling one to get a real good deal and get the motor that is offering the best deal....
I paid only 650 for a 96 integra ls wrecked car from the back. I went and towed it back to my friends shop and we are doing the motor swap now as we speak. I will also have the full integra suspension (rear disc brakes) as well as two sets of springs for free and some 14" steelies for free with new tires. Now I can sell all the salvagable parts for a profit to put back into the motor. The motor has dc sports cc 4-1 headers and my friend bought the 17" rims for 200. Now if you look on these forums you will find something nice, just have to look around. Although if you got the money, go for it! I'm not hating!!!
Although, I think that the motors will give you the same performance, BUT if you plan on going turbo, I'd say b18b all the way. Already low compression and ready to go plus longer gears, perfect for turbo......
just my .02 cents......
