B16A into a 86 CRX HF?
Has anyone tackled this swap? I picked up the 86 clunker for 600 bucks from a guy in the paper, the blue book is 2k on it, So I couldnt pass up the deal. Has anyone done this swap? I am going to get it done. I am going to have to restore the inside totally, the door panels are hanging off, the carpet is ripped up, Im going to gut the car and get it painted then drop the new motor in it. Its not going to be drivable for a while but any suggestions or tips? I know my best bet is the hasport mount kit as far as the mount points. The clearance looks pretty tight in there though. I plan on doing the internals before dropping the motor in, Forged pistons and rods, port and polish and valve job at a local shop. Im also putting in an act clutch so the motor will be pretty much souped up before it is dropped in. I have never swapped a motor before, but if I did it with someone that can swap it would it be feasible or should I get it done at a shop? Ill have pictures of it on monday when I pick it up so ill post em up. I am new to this board but there seems to be a lot of experienced tuners here so please help!!

I believe the wiring's going to be a chore for that engine. You'll probably need to wire in a new MAP sensor, replace most of the engine wiring, pick up an injector resistor, and somewhere find the non-OBD-style ECU and distributor plugs... it would be damn fast though .

You'll need an HAsport mount kit first. Secondly, since the HF is carbuerated, you'll need to run all new fuel and return lines, as well as wire the entire ECU harness. I'm sure HAsport can help you with this when you call them about the mount kit.
good luck,

Doesn't the 86 crx have a carb and no fuel injection, I know for sure you will need a mount kit, you will have to change the front knuckles to ef, you will need a custom shiftlinkage, and a ton of wiring.
