B16A CEL question....Thanks in advance for your help
sup H-T members. I just recently finished my B16A swap. I'm still tryin to work out the bugs. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Set Up: (in an EF with MPFI)
First Gen B16A
Jdm P30 ecu
ITR intake manifold
ITR throttle body - missing FITV (I think it's an OBD 2 version)
OBD 1 injectors and deleted resistor pack
Stock EF fuel pump (I know I need to change this...I've got a CTR one to replace it)
Locash conversion (OBD 0 to OBD1...dist, ecu, injectors, etc.) and engine harness kit
Deleted charcoal canister and disconnected purge valve
Un-used connectors
There were three connectors I didnt use:
1. purge valve connector because of deleted charcoal canister
2. original single wire O2 sensor b/c of OBD1 conversion
3. a wire originally behind the intake manifold of my d-series - its a single wire with a plug similar to the purge valve connector. the ITR manifold didn't have a sensor/unit for me to plug this into so I didn't connect it to anything.
Problems/Bugs
1. Check Engine light - codes:
a. 6
b. 3
or is it 63???
2. Drive-ability
a. it idles hella high. at like 1750rpm. i guess the FITV makes a huge difference...or am I doin something wrong?? is this adjustable??
b. it has a wierd sputter at low rpm. around 2-3000rpm on load. but as soon as I get passed that...it pulls pretty hard. any input??
thanks again in advance.

It's safe to say that you are probably throwing code 6 and code 3 instead of 63. Code 63 is for the secondary O2 and since you are using an OBD1 P30 ECU, it won't throw that code. Code 3 is MAP sensor and Code 6 is Water temp sensor.

do you think that's the reason why my car is acting like that?

Having the timing and TPS set is crucial for the car to run properly. If the timing is too far off that can have detrimental effects to the engine...
If the TPS isn't set right then it should be throwing a code 7 for the TPS. I would say that your bogging at low RPM's is caused from the timing, MAP code and possible TPS problem.

also remember that the map and tps sensor have the same connector and are often accidently switched when doing a swap.
check the timing asap and let me know if you need another map sensor. I have a **** load of them.
a idle issue I had when I did my swap was I got the wrong throttle body gasket from the homie
he gave me a obd2 t/b gasket instead of a obd1 gasket that I needed. My idle was going crazy and would jump around to 1700rpm.
Since you are running a obd2/ITR t/b you definitely need to use a obd2 gasket. I still have the one ferd sold me if you need it.
hit me in the pm's.

Sup y'all...Car's fixed!!
Just wanted to say thanks to all who helped out....especially B_Cruz...You were right. It definately was my OBD2 throttle body gasket. That was giving me a vacuum leak. Also thx to VTECvillian for the codes. Oh yeah...and to B_Cruz (again) for hookin up the MAP sensor.
Now that the vacuum leak is takin care of, and the faulty MAP sensor replaced...I have no CELs.
