The Y1 is more friendly on the Interstate/Freeway (longer gears) than the other two.
The S1/J1 I believe have the same gearing therefore are equal and would be better for in-town/light to light driving than the Y1.

The J1/S1 has a higher final drive than the Y1 meaning it will accelerate faster than the Y1. However the Y1 will have lower rpm on the highway than the J1/S1. I have a J1 and I love it. perfect transmission for the b16 powerband.
