Not enough info.
What car, what year car, what year B16, what OBD, and what ECU.
And what methods have you taken to make sure spark and gas are in all cylinders.

Just thought of something. This is almost imbarresing to ask but:
Will the B16A run (or just start) using a NON-CHIPED p28 ECU? I think thats my prob., my CEL is just flashing LONG over and over. Is this the problem maybe....

A p28 should run your engine whether it's been chipped or not.
Also, if you have gas in your cylinders, you may have fouled the plugs... keep an eye on them, it's easy to foul them when you're trying to turn the engine over and over and over..

I have a B16 chip coming. This will switch my p28 ECU to B16 specs, should this let it run? And im running obd-1.
Also, what harness are you running?

I would make sure you have the ground for the starter hooked up. We overlooked that and found it to be the problem on our first swap. Also, check the firing order, and make sure you have all the electrical connectors plugged in. Your car should run without the chip in it, not sure if VTEC will work properly though.

I am using the harness from my 1.6 Sohc vtec. I belive that all the grounds are good. I actully have more then needed.
Haha, I dont care if the Vtec works yet, I just want this thing to run.....

Make sure that all your sensors are all hooked up. When we were trying to start the H22 it would just crank and crank. We forgot to hook up the MAP sensor.... Then i hooked it up and it fired right away.

I am running the sensors that came on the b16 should I install my older sesonrs that match my p28? I think that might be my problem...... OBD-2 (I am assuming they are OBD-2) sensors with my OBD-1 ECU ='s a non-running engine, right? Cuase it just cranks and cranks and it wont backfire or missfire, it just cranks. So.... should I try switching my sensors?

Here is a thread i started a while back on engine grounds .
Make sure you have the one on the thermostat housing firmly grounded, then the one on the valve cover stud, and the one on the tranny.

Ive got two on the valve cover, one HUGE (2 gage) one on the tranny but none on the thermo. Ill try tkaing off the grounds, cleaning them, and then re-installing them.

Yes. Thermostat ground is also a good point to check...
also you said you have an OBD2 B16?
Did you re-pin your distributor and convert it to OBD1 or are you using and OBD1 dist?
Then again, you said you are getting spark.
I had problems starting my car when hooking up the h22, and turned out the resistor pack was not all the way plugged in.
Get some carbuerator cleaner and spray that **** into the Throttle Body and see if it runs.

Re: B16 wont run, please help, ASAP (poison)
I swaped out my internals of my old dist.(obd1) into the new housing. So I am getting GOOD spark.
I tried using starting fluid, but no luck. The engine dosent even missfire or backfire, just cranks. I just bought new sparkpulgs and Im going to put in tonight, along with re-grounding the engine..... hopefuly that will do the trick....
I need my car back, Its the only one Ive got......

There is a wire in your harness that several of the sensors and the ECU are collectively grounded to on the thermostat. You can see a little spot where a 10mm bolt is supposed to go.
Generally on the harness next to grey plug for the thermostat/fan switch sensor.

OK so now I know what to do for grounding.
What about timeing? Should I lossen the dist. and slide it all the way to one side, then keep moving towards the other extream, while someone cranks over the engine? This is what my father told me to try. Maybe the timeing is way off?

If your getting gas in all the cylinders, your spark plugs are most likely dripping with gas. Id clean them off and give it another shot. Make 100% sure you connect the MAP sensor and the knock sensor too.

Set the dist timing in as close to the center as you can.
You can worry about that later, it's not imperative to it running right this second.
When we say check to see if it's in time, we mean take the valve cover off and look and make sure the crank and the cam gears are all in time.

Where is the knock sensor located? I have done nothing with a knock sensor that I know of. Is there one on the engine (B16A2) already or is that something I have to put on in order for it to run? If it is equipped, how do I hook it up?
I know there is a sensor that sits on top of the fuel rail that hooks to the manifold vaccum line (via an orange vaccum line), what’s this? I have no connection to hook it to, what do I do with that?
I also have a connection by the crank pulley, which I have nothing to hook to it. Is this the crank angle sensor? What do I do about this one?
Thanks for all the help guys!!!!

You do not have to wire up
the crank position sensor,
the little vacume device by the fuel rail
or the knock sensor for a p28.
