Re: b16 with p28 ecu rev limit at 7400? (nxvictim)
chip your ecu because it is still running off of the D16z6's fuel maps/ignition timing and this is why your rev limiter is set at 7400

The OBD-1 B16A runs on a P30 map...
You probably shouldn't be running your B16 on a stock P28 since the two motors have very different fuel requirements. The B16 is capable of inhaling much more air than the D16 which means it needs more fuel.
At best, the B16 comes with larger injectors which means the stock P28 program is simply running it rich and loosing lots of power and clogging your cat.
At worst the B16 has the same size injectors as the D16 and the P28 map is starving it of fuel causing it to run lean and detonate (which may blow the engine). And since the P28 doesn't utilize the knock sensor on the B16, the ECU won't know to retard the timing if detonation is present...
Get that ECU chipped...

4400 is too low. You want it around 5300 or even later. If you switch too soon, you will be losing torque...
Yes you can have the P30 base-map put in your P28, but your going to have to have someone chip it for you. Contact Kenji as he's really good, reputable and has quick turnaround (most of the time).

PS: Just make sure you only run premium fuel as the P28 ECU cannot utilize the knock sensor no matter what map is installed. This means it won't retard ignition timing for bad gasoline...
