I recently had a first gen b16 dropped into my 94 civic. It was converted to obd1. I kept the cable tranny. Its a jdm tranny. The problem is that the gears max out to quick. When im on the highway going about 60 the rpm are at 3500. The 5th gear almost feels like 4th. The shop that done the work said the tranny had some work done to it before. they also told me the tranny was slipping. I also had another guy tell me that the gearing could have been changed? I was wondering if anyone had that happen to their swap and how the fixed it.

maybe your tranny has a Type R final drive in it ...the gears are really short like that a manuel trans internaly cannot slip..the clutch can slip ..but that problem is very ez to diagnose
