Default B16 Head VS GSR head for Lsvtec

Well i had a b16 head on with CTR cams, stock intake manifold and JDM 4-1 header, and then i threw a GSR head on with SKunk 2 Intake manifold and unfortunatly i had to give up my JDM 4-1 header so now i have shitty DC. GSR head feels like it makes way more power then the b16 head did. I can feel a lot more power in top end and more tourqe. I also threw a spoon head gasket on there just to bump the compression a litte. full tank of 100 octane and she is running better then ever right now. now all i need to do is tune the beast.

i would recomend people to use a GSR head rather then a B16 head when doing an LSvtec swap. GSR head is a bit more exspensive but its definently worth the money. http://www.importreview.com has a good topic on B16 head VS GSR head.

Yea I agree... I like the GSR head better and the same with the manifold... There are things you can do to it which will help out.. The runners are still long cuz of the design but I always remove the IAB's, I just don't really like the SK2... Just looks cheap to me.... Did you move over your CTR cams? 41.60cc as appose to 42.70cc roughly 0.20:1 rise in compression with a standard bore.. Sorry you had to give up your JDM ITR, that's my favorite header...

Yea those CTR cams over the B16 are crazy.. I hate B16 cams... Over the GSR they aren't as much esspecially on the exhaust side... Normally when I do CTR cam installs i just have the person get the intake, but there is nothing wrong with having both... Latez

The exhaust cams are exactly the same, actually if you look at US spec ITR and US spec GSR exhaust cam part numbers, they are the same , So theres no need to buy both, and i beleive that the gsr head yeilds a .2 compression increase over the si head on this particular swap(lsVtec), good luck

Actually the CTR/ITR exhaust cams have the same part number... The GSR is a little different...

So basically what you are saying is use a slightly port/polished B16 (PR3) head with a minorly upgraded valvetrain and the same cams that we are talking about... That's just a waste of money sorry...
