Default B16 -> GSR OBD-0 (Built Race Engine Project Begins)

I just got done hauling my new block to my house. My plans for a while were to send my B16 out to get sleeved and made into a B18. Turns out my friend managed to blow his N/A 95 GSR Swap. I offered him $100 for his GSR cams and the block. I've got a few questions, I'll be using my B16 Head which has the GSR cams in it and building the GSR block.

First question is about this circular disc that is on the front of the block. It says warranty void if removed. I think it is one of those things that melt if the block overheats. Does it matter if this is on the block. I've never seen a honda block with one of these before. Here is a horrible pic of it:

Next question is what wiring harness to use, my guess is that my CRX Si harness that has been modified for the B16 should work just fine. What do I do about this sensor that is coming out by the crank?

The seller is keeping his GSR trans and getting a B16 to replace it, he keeps the intermediate shaft right? My B16 intermediate shaft will go on the GSR fine?

Will my B16 ARP head studs work on the GSR?

How do you tell by the engine number if it's a JDM or USDM GSR?

Here's some pics of the block as it is right now, my plans are to get it sleeved this winter and start ordering my engine components. Thanks

why put a 1.6 head on a 1.8 block??? I've seen more Gsr heads on b16 blocks than vice versa.

I know the head doesnt really deal with displacement, but why not just do a stroke b16 or b18??

I don't have a GSR head, plus B16 heads out flow B18 heads.

It was a choice of getting my B16 sleeved or this GSR block sleeved both for big boost. I'll make way better torque numbers with the B18.

forget that stupid ckf sensor at the bottom...
use crx si wiring with appropriate conversions to obd0 like pr3
gsr have a hydraulic tranny? if so then you gotta keep axles matching
you are just running a bigger b16 with the gsr bottom end so just think of it that way

ps i did a b18c jdm just that way since it seemed simpler

Exactly, I'm going to be using my current S1 trans. I'm beefing up the head w/ springs and retainers. I'm currently running the GSR cams which seem to help in boost. Basiclly all I'm doing is building this B18C1 shortblock and swapping it in place on my current setup.

Anyone know how to tell if it's JDM or not, I'm guessing since it came from IAS its probably JDM?

no ned to worry about if its jdm or not since u are going to be changing the pistons anyway...difference btw JDM and American b18c1 is the compression...shouldnt matter if u are changing them out...FYI, i think its an american motor 'cos IAS only does american motors(might be wrong though)

Yes, reuse your current Si harness that was adapted to fit the B16. You only need to worry about the CKF sensor if you are planning to run a USDM OBD2/OBD2B ECU, which I doubt you are.

Yes

Yes, but use new ones!

B18C1 is USDM, B18C is JDM. The JDM engines do not use suffixes after the letter in the engine code. So both the ITR and GSR (SiR-G) are B18C.

I thought ARPs were re-usable?
Ok this is definitly the US version, time to pull it apart and check out the crank. If anyone can recommend any good engine building sites (beside c-speed) or books I'd appreciate it.
