Default Axle problems......AAAHHHHHHHRRRRRRHHHH!!!!!!!

Ok...get this ....Place Racing mount kit and weld in housings for Crx/H22...new custom crossmember....h22a(93) the damn thing fires up great, very strong sounding....

I drove the beast down the driveway at idle speed..700 rpm...I put the gas on about 1000 rpm, cornered a curve at 700 rpm....driver's side axle came apart from the housing and the shaft...the cv boot was shredded!!!!!!!! Not broken..jus came apart. Turns out the custom h22/Crx axle was 1/2" too short and the shaft and bearings just popped out

What the hell!!! Did Place Racing send me the wrong axles? I tried an B series axle with the h22 attatchment..but was too long by 1"......what axle can I use until I can send the Place Racing axle back for a replacement....it has got to be an Integra axle...but what year is the right length?????????

I would try 1st gen integra axles. They are the shortest of all. They get longer as the gens get higher.

had to take off the c/v boot....and remove the Integra sized threading on the end(?)...and replace it with the h22 sized housing. The Teggy ones dont fit.

Are you talking about swapping Prelude joints onto the Integra axles? If so, then they're the same size... just longer input shaft on the Prelude joints and deeper cup for the axle to move in. Since we have an abundant amount of Prelude axles, we've been lately taking off the joints and using them on customer's cars with either 89 Integra axles or 90 Integra axles (depending on which is needed for their car) and it works out perfectly.

On an EF, we took measurements and it's very similar to an EG chassis (hub to hub distance) and the way the H22 is positioned in there, you should be able to use 90 Integra axles on both sides..... but that depends on what mount kit that you're using and how it's positioned in your car.

yeah...I am using the Place Racing weld in kit..and mounts. The 86 teggy's axles were perfect length....all I need to do now is find a place that makes 300whp+ axles for the track. Or I can buy a **** load of stock 86-89 Teggy axles from AutoZone for 125 without core.....
