Default auto swap to manual

have a auto to manual swap in my 95 civic ex.. it pops out of 2nd gear on its on...?? whats the deal..what can i do

my first guess would have something to do with the shift linkage.

Doubt it has anything to do with the linkage. It has to do with the syncros sleve for your second gear. Very commonon high mileage trannys. When you put it in 2nd gear then give it gas does it pop out right away? If you hold onto the shifter and apply pressure to it does it stay in gear? If this is the case its time for a rebuild.

im unaware of how many miles the tranny has...

if i hit the gas then let go it will bog and pop out.. i try to give it a lil pressure but sometimes it gives a lil scrapping noise..

how much is a rebuild?

Rebuild is costlier then a junkyard one but after the rebuild you basically have a new trans. Rebuild will probally be in the 650 range.
