auto b18a to Manual????

auto b18a to Manual????
alright heres my situation- Im gonna buy a b18a motor but its an automatic, I am wondering if i can just buy a 5-speed Ls tranny and bolt it up to it and make it 5-speed? Im gonna be dropping it into my 93 Honda civic CX....Thanks

There is really no such thing as a manual or automatic B series motor...they are designed for both. The only thing you have to worry about is the intake manifold - will need a Manual one if you have a manual system for your car already. And you can interchange all the b-series trannies as far as I know. I plan on getting a Civic SI or Type R tranny for my B18A if I can find one....

actually to add on to the above this, the flywheel studs on a manual trans are longer than those of a auto trans...so u will need the 10 star studs from a manual tranny to bolt up the flywheel and complete the trans swap. by the way....i had no idea that the intake manifolds fom autos r diff from manu...prob somethin to do with the sensors. thanx for the tip.

Intake manifold on the automatic tranny car is designed with the EGR system. When you buy a cold air induction intake (AEM) that is why you use both hole ports instead of just one with the manual transmission.
