Alright, went to get my car tested today, when they plugged in their thingy to my car It said it "couldn't communicate with vehicle" or something to that effect. I have a 96 EX coupe w/ '98 JDM ITR motor AND ECU. Now I'm not worried about a visual, etc. cause they don't do that here, I think I'll pass fine, I just need it to communicate w/ their computer.

1. Is there another ECU I can run to read and that won't throw any codes, for example, maybe my stock EX ECU??
2. Is there any other way to pass without having to get all the US type R emissions equipment?
3. I think that Nashville's emissions test only looks for stored codes, so I do think I'll pass, but if I can't communicate, I can't pass.

check the wiring, and make sure they're not using OBD2-B
