I have a turbo'd h22 in my 99hatch. Used Avid mounts(yes they gave me a deal I could not refuse). I have the h tranny and it works fine course I am only making 350 or so on low boost.

I got an h22 97 hatch and I would suggest getting an h22 swap complete with lsd tranny and just swap out the stock final drive 4.2 for the 4.7 that gearspeed.com sell for $550 I think and while you got the transmission open I would suggest getting all synchros carbon coated withg that final drive you should be almost like a gsr tranny and its cheaper I got my swap lsd for1800 jdm complete with ecu and axles

Re: anyone with h22 swap 96'-00' civic (andrewk)
youll need motor tranny ecu custom motor mounts 92+ prelude shifter or 94+ accord shifter assembly an obd2a to obd1 converion harness(JDMshit.com) prelude radiotor hoses and integra or prelude 99-00 civic si radiotor because the civic radiotor water necks are smaller in diameter it it can still work if you clamp it real good but it might still overheat(mine did) because the radiator is for a 1.6 not 2.2 and use your original harness and just convert the distributor, IACV, and injector plugs and extend the alternator cables and add vtec cables

Re: anyone with h22 swap 96'-00' civic (clayton bigsby)
you right man you can either use a 90-903 accord midshaft with a 90-93 integra dirver axle and a 90-93 integra passenger with accord or prelude inner joint so it doesn't popo out of the differential if the driver doesn't work out for you the use a 92-96 prelude midshaft with a 89 integra axles woth prelude or accord inner joint (it is an inch shorter) this is what I used because the first option would lock up that side on the freeway when redlining on 3rd gear and I almost ran into the center divider twice so I used the second option and everything has been ok since

Hey, all you guys with an actual H22/hatch swap... I've been thinking about this swap, it sounds pretty good (Honda Tuning mag even did a small article on it recently), but my friend who used to have a Civic (so he thinks he knows so much more) says that the H22 is too big and heavy for a hatch...
What do you guys think of your own swaps? Any problems handling-wise? You happy with it?

Re: anyone with h22 swap 96'-00' civic (ZeroSpinn)
honestly most are just myths obviously it does weigh more (dont know exactly)are there are people that havent had h22s and already said they are not quick and the to heavy and slow you down but its bullshit either way you have to upgrade the suspension for better traction but your right some people do think they know it all there is people that have told a b16 is faster but the thing I learned is that its easier show them that is quicker than to try to convince them The way I see it its that a v8 454 block is heavier but I am certain that it will not slow you down just because its bigger right but anyways GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR DICISION MAN.

im also thinking about an h22 swap into my EM1 but im still debating if i should keep waiting for the h2b kit to come out and go with that or do a full complete h22 swap. As for the weight difference, i read on h-1 here that it is very small difference. ALso definitely a b16 wont be as quick as an h22 out of the box. Anyways good luck with your decision.

ok now correct me if i am wrong but isn't the the only difference between the kits the driver side upper motor mount bracket I mean if it is it should be pretty easy to make right rather than to wait for the em1 kit to come out

yeah sure if you wanna say so ...uhh if you actually know something share it...if you have know clue what youre talking about just stfu. QSD will send you a kit for the ek, you have to weld up the drivers side mount yourself other than that its all good in the hood. and you use stock b series mounts with both h2b kits....
