Anybody rockin a B20b GSR?
My 94 GSR's got over 175k on the clock and it uses a little oil, bout one quart on 1k, or 3 qt. between changes if I beat on it. Usually it uses 1-1/2 - 2 qt. between service. I've got a B20b with about 60k on it and was thinking of swapping it into my GSR. I am interested in reliable daily transportation. I'm thinking it would have more low end than my B18c but no top end. I don't need to wind to 8 grand on the way to work. Anyway, was wondering if anyone else had done the swap and how they liked it. Yes, I did search and it was mostly CRVtec.
TIA

Re: Anybody rockin a B20b GSR? (NCchris)
I used to have a CR-VTEC...about 2 years ago. I loved the torquey bottom end and the screaming vtec. I raced a guy at our local track with a B20B (head and block) w/ a custom turbo kit built around a custom spec t3/t4 turbo. He was a monster. He told me that when the engine was stock he barely had to rev it past 3500 to pass people in regular traffic at full throttle. It was the same with mine...I also had a prolite flywheel/act stage 3 clutch with a GSR transmission. If you are asking about have a B20b head AND block other than having a poorly running GSR I would look into finding out what is wrong with the GSR and if it's not the head than work it into your plans to eventually build a GSR/B20b. A built block would help you from blowing the engine from revving past the B20's stock rev-limit of around 6500 considering you'll be running the GSR or chipped ECU for the GSR DOHC head. Just some thoughts to send you on your way...good luck.
