Default American B18 GSR or JDM B16A2 Si-R?

I have a JDM B16A2 (92-95) in my 2000 honda civic coupe, recently i've come across a '95 GSR B18 for dirt cheap in good condition however it isnt JDM. I know the GSR has 10 more horsepower but since it is not JDM i dont know about differences in the vtech or redline, would it be worthwhile to swap in the GSR, or should i just turn around and sell it to get more performance parts on the B16?

I wouldn't bother. If you're looking for more power, the money would be better spent on building the engine.

FI or NA.

Get the GSR and sell the B16.

1.8 > 1.6

BTW B16A2s are not JDM. They are from either 96-97 Del Sol VTEC or 99-00 Civic Si

depends on how dirt cheap, if its like a grand then go for the gsr cuz it would cost way more money to increase displacement in the 1.6 to make any kind of torque<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by SkoundrelUSA &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Get the GSR and sell the B16.

A B16A is JDM, but anything with a numerical designation at the end cannot. Hence the "A2."

First off, before somebody *** rapes you for it, VTECH is a phone company, under the hood, the variable valve timing system is called VTEC.

Secondly, I'd keep the damn B16 and instead of putting money into a GSR and then having to swap it and all - turbo the B16. Yes, turbo it, run like 10lbs on stock internals and a good tune, and you'll be happy as hell, plus you'll blow away any stock GSR, JDM or USDM out there.

GL

EDIT:
Then again, how cheap was the GSR, care to tell numbers?

Ummm... Well Im looking to buy a B16 if you were interested in selling it. Personally I would do the B16 so I can turbo it. GSR motora bend valves to easily... But if you were going to sell either one let me know...

the jdm motor you're talking about
B16A 1.6L JDM DOHC VTEC 92-95 Civic Si-R II/ 92-97 CRX DelSol SiR 170ps (168 hp) no a2 on the engine code, its called a 2nd gen

the one you probably have
B16A2/3 1.6L USDM DOHC VTEC 93-97 DelSol VTEC/99-00 Civic Si 160hp

the one you're thinking of buying
B18C1 1.8L USDM DOHC VTEC 94+ Integra GS-R 170hp

i might be intrested in trading the gsr for the rims and a reduction of the price
