Default 98 Civic with GSR - Plugs and P0325 code

Hello,

I've had lots of codes and cleaned them all up. now I have a P0325 code again after it being cleared.

So heres the deal. bought a mess of a swap. I have replaced ECU, Distributor, O2 sensors, knock sensor and hooked up CKF.

Now when I got the engine it came with a 2 step colder plug. BKR8. At the time it was misfiring badly so I bought new NGK wires and the BKR6 plugs. I have had a heavy smell of exhaust and I thought it was due to crack in flex pipe so I have replaced that and still had the smell and then I started getting misfire codes from my new distributor. I put the cap and rotor on from my original distributor which was throwing a cylinder position code and took out plugs. Well my BKR6 plugs were roasted. totally white. So I put the BKR8s back in and the smell of exhaust went away and felt much smoother. But then the P0325 code was thrown. so I traced the wire again for my Knock sensor and got 0.00 ohms across it to the pin 6 on the D connector. so it is hooked up accurately.

So my questions are as follows.

1. Will I get a P0325 if it senses too much knock or is it a different code?
2. Why does the colder plug run so much better? Also I have no idea what is done to engine. I am debating dropping oil pan to see if it has aftermarket rods and pistons.

The kid I bought it off of said it has skunk2 tuner 1 cams. then visually I can tell it has blox intake manifold, AEM Cam gears, and 4-2-1 header. I believe the engine may have been boosted at one time as I have three stripped manifold bolts (not sure why its bolts and not studs to begin with. and to top all this crap off it has all OBD1 components on a OBD2 harness. OBD1 distributor, injectors, and alternator.

If anyone has any ideas where for me to go next. Maybe a step up a plug to see. I have been through a lot with it and need to pass emissions next month and I am o so close

Check for timing both ignition and cam? What fuel are you using?

Well changed out the ignitor and coil from my old distributor. Only made it 20 miles then got same codes. Really at a loss on what to do next.

My post didnt send last night.

I have checked ignition timing. I didnt go all the way through that flow chart but I have tested continuity and it was good.

Odd part is if I use my old distributor I get cylinder position sensor. And no knock or misfire. Going to put original internals back in original distributor and test and see if it makes a difference. Once thats done ill drive for a while and see what codes I get.

Anyone know what sensor in the distributor is the cylinder position sensor? Maybe I can take the one out of the distributor thats misfiring and put in my original one.

Thanks for the flow chart.

Bought brand new distributor and plugs from autozone. went 60 miles and took to emissions. then the p0301 and p0302 and p1300 codes were thrown during the emissions test so it failed. I am not sure where to go from here. I have checked injectors for clicking with stethoscope and replaced everything except wires. the wires were replaced not even 12 months ago. approximately 25k miles.

any idea?

well worked on it more today. i got same codes. Checked mechanical timing - good, checked compression - 200 -220 in all cylinders - good, checked vacuum - don't have gauge but couple hoses that are closed off removed and engine started missing. so they are sealed up tight. went to swap fuel injectors moved injector 2 to injector four spot. upon putting rail back on realized someone used washers instead of grommet or whatever is pictured below and the injectors on 1 and 2 don't seat fully in there tight. Leads me to believe this is most likely where the extra air is coming from causing misfire.

Anyone have any idea what the part number is for that. i cant find it when look online it is grayed out. or any other ideas. i have a blox intake manifold. like the one pictured below.

Well no misfire code now. Just a p0441. But my canister isnt hooked up. Posted in thw wiring and swap thread without reply. Anyone know where to wire evap solenoid and also how to run the vacuum lines. Some articles say pcv to plenum in intake others are canister to plenum so not sure. Any help or suggestions appreciated.

Bump. Anyone? I scanned codes again and have p0325 and p0441. I have connector for canister but have no idea how to run vacuum or wiring. From wiring schematic shows one wire into ecu and other wire into injector junction. Help!
