Default 96 rear disc conversion - which prop valve?

I just had a shop throw in the complete underpinnings of an SiR (Si for States guys) .....so essentially I got the front discs, front LCA, forks anti-roll bar.....and the rear disc. plus SiR/Si booster/MC.

When I brake now, I can noticeably hear the rear discs working (makes a Koosh koosh koosh koosh "metal dragging like sound" ) and I checked with my friend who did a 5bolt conv. on his car and he told me he used a CTR (non ABS) prop valve to complete his setup.

I have been told the SiR prop valve will not work because it has ABS....and the Si is the only one which CAN work because it is NON ABS in the states....

Can anybody tell me if there is another prop I can use? The CTR one is B/O for 6-8 weeks! or can anybody get their hands on an Si prop for me?

Many thanks!

You need a prop valve that has 40/40 stamped on it. I got mine from a 90-93 integra RS non ABS. You can also get one form a USDM 99-01 Si non.

Rob are you positive the 93 Integra RS non ABS will work on the 6th gen? Not doubting your words just need POSITIVE verification before I go ahead and order it!

Thanks for your time and consideration!

I know the valve will work. It's not going to bolt up. The mounting bracket is different. I got mine from the junk yard. I got it for $5. You can use any prop valve from Honda/Acura as long as it has 40/40 stamped on it. The bracket might be different.

I had to take it apart and switch the brackets. You will have to be carful and check to see if the bolts that bolt the 2 halfs together are not crimped at the bottom. You wont be able to take it apart with out damaging it. I just cut the bolts ends (my stock 94 civ ex prop valve) with a dremel and re-used the blots from the RS prop valve. Those wern't crimped.

If you don't want to deal with that, go here http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...y5=BRAKE+LINES

It's #4

I did check between 99 and 00. The part # are different. I have no idea why. The price and the part # is different. 99, $68.71 00, $116.72. Check with Honda to see if they are different part # between the 99-00.

No...no it won't "work".

The only option for a rear disc swap in an EK chassis and bolt-in convience is one from a 99-00 Si. I posted the stamped numbers here on this board back in Jan of this year. A search may find that info.

Go to a junkyard or call http://www.importautosalvage.com I got mine from there for cheap.
