Default 96 del sol / b20b knock sensor

I swapped in a b20b into my 96 del sol si. It turns over but won't start. Do I have to wire in the knock sensor? I'm running obd2 p75. Theres fuel and spark.

I have run my B16A2 without the wire connected to the knock sensor for a very short time (20 miles). Engine light might come on but it will run.

What ECU are you using? Was the motor known working before you installed it? Have you checked timing? Compression test?

Spark
Fuel
Timing
Compression
Air
Check them in that order as its the only basic items that go into it.

No you don't need a knock sensor with the P75. Also get the right distributor for the engine 96-99 B18B.

Theres spark. Fuel. 200 compression all the way across. How would I check for air?

Your intake filter isn't a brick of concrete, and your exhaust isn't clogged, right? There, you just checked for air.

Is the spark bright white?

Ok here is your issue. If your running a b20b obd1 swap in a obd2a car with a obd2a p75 the swap will never run. The reason is. You need a obd2 oil pump with crank gear so the crank position sensor can read it. I just went threw this problem with a obd1 gsr in a 2000 si. So to help you out you neef a oil pump, crank gear' and crank angle position sensor from a 96-01 b18b1. That will start you right up.

My swap, ecu, and car are all obd2. The timing was off. Timed it and it fired right up.
