Default 96-00 civic motor ????

I have a 93 civic ex with a gsr motor in it now, but thats for sale...I'm looking to get a 96 and up civic haddy and do that instead. But which motor is the best for those being that they are non vtec, and how do I go about the wiring? does it plug in, or what? maybe I can just have it put in. I did my swap, but its a lot different. just some questions.thanks

Are you talkin about non VTEC SOHC or DOHC like a B18A/B or B20B/Z??? I would be assuming you are talkin about the B series... It's really not hard at all... The main mounts you will need first of all are the two lowers (tranny side and driver side), you'll need a 99-2000 Si rear bracket, and the driver side upper mount that bolts to the block... You can use the DX/CX upper tranny side mount and the driver side upper apron (they are the exact same on the 99-2000 Si and 96-2000 CX/DX/EX) As far as wiring goes it's pretty simple... If you just use the CX/DX harness like i normally do you'll have to rewire the it.... The IAC will have to be rewired since the CX/DX run the 3 pin rotary style IAC and just about everything else runs the 2 pin linear style... That's not too hard tho.. mainly just switchen around 3 wires however you want to... Since you are talking about a non VTEC swap you won't have to wire up the VTEC, VTM, or KS, which saves you three wires... Rewire the crankshaft speed fluctuation sensor on the oil pump to the DX harness and then just modify the harness to fit the new motor... Some wires may have to be extended... you'll have to move the oxygen sensor plugs to under the intake manifold... just the simple stuff.. Hope this answers your question, if you need any more help lemme know.. Peace
