2000 Civic Si with GSR..Help with BAR!
Hello everyone,
I currently have a 2000 Si with a GSR motor, and i am currently working on getting it BAR'd. It passed everything but 3 things. the cat, intake, and header on the car were associated with the b16 motor by carb number, so now i am looking for a Cold air intake header and cat for a 2000 GSR.
DOes anyone know of a cold air intake thats carb legal that fits into the si and is carb legal for the gsr motor? i do not know if the AEM fits and i searched for articles with people who have done it with no prevail.
Thank you for your help!

I would rock the 99-00 Si airbox like RT said,
Depending on what intake setup you are using,(GSR or single plenum)
would most likely determine the correct elbow to use.
You need to integrate a cat converter back into the exhaust, preferably a low mileage or new OBD2 unit of quality.
You also need to utilize a OEM exhaust manifold for B18C (USDM)
Make sure this unit is for the B18 and not the B16
I am assuming everything else is correct, ECU, wiring, etc.
Always use stock parts if possible while trying to clear this hurdle, Its just gonna **** them off if they see anything aftermarket under the hood. Trust me most of these guys can appreciate and truly do respect a clean proper swap. And your reward for this is your BAR label.

yeah the wiring is correct already i just did not know about the intake and header. I figured that a cold air with carb numbers was going to be easier to find. I can use a aftermarket header as long as its carb legal. I just wanted to see which was the fastest way. I have the stock air box but i do not have the arm which is why i was going to go with a cold air intake.

I guess its a trade off for you cali folk, you guys gets really restricted to do the swaps super perfect to pass the inspection and have great weather and nice roads, up here in NY as long as your check engine light isnt on and you have no stored codes you pass inspection, but we have horrible roads, pot holes everywhere, salt in the winter that do serious work to our "old" cars. good luck with your EM1 dude.

Not everywhere in NY. There are plenty of localities that require regular smog testing, and are starting to adopt CA CARB laws.
OP, AEM also has a hybrid line-up that's made specifically for swapped cars. You might want to look into that, if you're dead set on wasting money on one.

The ref was actually surprised how we wired it up and got the ECU with no codes ahah but yeah he just said to either get OEM or aftermarket approved stuff specifically for the GSR. the short ram and headers i have are for the b16

Hello everyone,
Well good news I had the car BAR'd months ago. But my axel is now torn. Looking to replace it. Driver side. I've searched and seen some state they have used the si axels and some state they have used the GSR axels. Just wanted to see what you guys might have to say on which axel it might be so I can purchase it. Car needs to be running so I would rather take it off and install the new one at the same time. Thank you
