'94 GSR Swap (complete) into '92 Cx
Hello.
I have a question regarding wiring for this swap ('94 B18C1 into '92 Civic Cx). I've read that to engage vtec in the civ with a b18c1 swap one needs to add three wires. First, is this true?
I purchased the 94 b18c1 motor, trans, ecu, axles for a swap and am unfamiliar with all of the technical aspects of the swap. From what I've read and learned from word of mouth, it seems that this swap is fairly straightforward.
But again, I heard that there can be an issue with the wiring for vtec.
Thanks,
Jake

Now, an off topic question. I pulled out the console in my Cx hoping to install the center console and armrest from the 94 gsr, but found that they don't exactly fit. Whoops! The armrest seems to work, but the console just doesn't fit. Is there a console from a civic or integra that will bolt into the interior of a 92 Cx.
Appreciate any info, thanks.

Yes it is a very easy swap as long as you have the mounts and linkages from the integra, as far as the wiring for the vtec im not sure didte swap inmy 94 ex and it ws allready wired for the vtec

you should be all set...
If you run a GSR/P72 ecu then you need to run one wire for the knock sensor... run a length of wire connecting the ECU pin (for the knock sensor) to the engine compartment harness near the fusebox.
If you run a chipped P28 ecu then you dont need this sensor, but a chipped P28 cannot control the secondary butterflies in a stock GSR intake manifold, not sure if you have one or the skunk2 IM.
