Default 93eg w/b18c1 issues

Hi. After 2 years of getting info from h-t,,,im finally a member... So i have a 93 civic dx hatch and just recently put a 95 gsr swap into it. I have put 1500 miles on it now and am seeing some issues..First it leaks oil on left hand corner where head meets block. I then noticed it it very loud at idle. I know they are noisy motors but it seems too loud..it drives great and no cels but it hesitates around 3000rpms when at a steady cruz. Its like it looses power for a second then comes back..rpms dont change and no backfires..its driving me crazy..timing is correct and it has brand new td-68u..this is what ive done--

Block hot tanked and honed
Micro polished crank
New rings
New main and rod bearings
All new gaskets and seals
Head was only inspected and cleaned
New head gasket
New cam seals
New timing belt
New water/oil pump
4-2-1 header
2.5" exhaust
Msd blaster 2
Blox fpr and gauge

Sorry bout the long story,,its just my first swap and i dont want to blow it up anytime soon..thanks for your help......

I have a similar issue with my gsr swap. It is def noticeable when ac is on. When I use my chipped p28, it isn't noticeable. I tend to get paranoid when I sit idling with this motor but it is in perfect condition. With out a vid or audio clip, I can't be certain but I think you might just be overly paranoid.

Thanks for the help guys..I know i am paranoid a lil sinceits my first swap. I also think its a fuel issue like pump or injectors..i know how to check injectors but how do i check fuel pump? Can it also be a flat spot on the cams?.

Are they oem cams? I dont think oem cams could suffer of flat spots. Try posting a video of your issue

if your leaking oil on driver side of head check your cam seals,if your leaking on passenger side of head replace all gaskets associated the vtec spool valve and solenoid.**** I think even the pressure switch uses a gasket. cam seal on that side also.

Thanks for the help..As far as oil leaks, the leak im talking about is where the block meets the head on passenger front side..i am waiting to redo my oil pan and valve cover gaskets then im taking it back to the shop that put headgasket on..besides that, the car runs great now.. It stopped hesitating but still bogs down at idle occasionally. Im going to get a new cat and custom exhaust soon and i think my cat is clogged up. Ill see if that fixes anything...

RedHatchet, I have the exact oil leak problem you have. I've checked all the "normal" stuff. Distributor seals and all that. Hope you get some answers!

sounds like whoever put the motor together didn't know what he was doing. Don't take it back to him because more than likely he's bound to **** it up, again.

Do all the above and get your valves adjusted.
