93 civic swap..maybe?
my girlfriend wrecked her 97 civic ex(4door auto). the body is a loss, but eng/trans still good. i have a 93 lx body i bought a while back and was wanting to install the y8 into this 93'. is this possible or is it just to much of a pain to fool with since the y8 is obd2 and the 93 is obd1?

You can't use the Y8 transmission or the ECU, you can use the engine, but you'll need to swap the intake manifold and throttlebody and you'll need to run a chipped and tuned OBD1 ECU. You'd also want to reuse your distributor, alternator and injectors. A better idea would probably be to sell the swap (you may have a really hard time selling the auto tranny and ECU) and use that money to buy a D16Z6 and ECU.

You can put it in a 93 even though it's obd2 but you need to get a p06 and injectors for the p06 and a tranny assuming you have a 5 speed trans on the 93. That's all you need to do and get a d series distriutor for obd1 and there the y8 is converted obd1 using the 93 wiring harness.
