93 civic swap B16 SIR 1st or 2nd gen
I haven't been able to decide if its actually worth geting the sir 2nd gen over a 1st. I'm going to cam it as soon as I get it anyway. So i'll be losing like .2 of the compression.

Re: 93 civic swap B16 SIR 1st or 2nd gen (doublejz)
anyone know where i can get the mount to convert an auto to a man? Placeracing is the only place where i can find it, and they obviously just dont care about business. Hasport said they are going to start carrying it in a couple months, but I kinda need it asap.

The money you think your saving on a first gen you will fork out for hydro to cable conversion. Among other things, this is hear say but I'm told the gen 2 is better designed honestly I have no clue the difference but it's so much easier. Just threw mine in and besides my own lack of sleep thought process was as easy a motor swap as you could do in any car and any motor.

my inputs
1st gen: if you enjoy looking for parts to "complete" your swap then it's for you. also more headaches in the long run.
2nd gen: it's "complete" as it can be for your car. you don't have to scrounge the junkyards for parts to match the engine to the car. less time and money in the long run.

second gen.
easier install, first gen will cost about as much as a second gen. mounts and hudro conversion is expensive.

Definitely HMO or IAS and definitely get the second gen B16A with hydro tranny. I just installed one yesterday from HMO into a 94 Del Sol. I've also installed 3 other motors from HMO: B18C, B16A, and H22A and all were clean.
