84 b18 block with newer vtec head?
my gf has a 84 accord and a 88 civic. the accord has a b18 installed and i was wondering if a newer head(vtec) will work with the older block and what would i have to do to get a fuel injection system setup to make it work...any help is appreciated..thanks

i could be wrong here, but i think the b series family of motors was introduced in japan in 1989 and i dont think theres ever been a b series in an accord, but i could be wrong.

Re: (02Luder)
the two blocks have very noticeable diff. Do a search on google, and you will probably find that guy that tried it, and eventually gave up. The old B series bottom ends could never handle the rpm that the newer ones can. It just wouldnt be worth it.

I'm the gf, and I appreciate the advice. I want to eventually have my civic running 10's, and of course go FI. I nee some serious "how to" info, though. Any suggestions for a very detailed site for swaps and rebuilds?

wow.
first of all, sell the car, then by a civic shell, gut it, install lexan, buy a b or H series motor, stroke it, sleeve it, turbo it, dump in some nitrous, put on some slicks and go run 10's. it really is that easy!
