Default 81.5 x 89mm B16A block possible?!

Hi HT.

I'm from brazil (but I'm in US for a while) and down there the only B-series motors we have availiable are B16's (exept for some stupidly expensive B20's).

AAAAAND as we CAN NOT import engine blocks (specially used ones) all I can do is build my poor B16A2.

ALSO, all the ones that tried sleeving there blocks with some kind of MID sleeves got screwed, as machine shops have no idea on what the hell they are doing.

So I got myself a 89mm LS crank in MINT condition and I'm going to take it with me (IF local aduana don't get it from me).

Now i'd like to know if it can possibly fit in the block, even if some shaving is necessary. I have a set of 134mm rods, so I would like to know if some custom stroker pistons would make me fine or if I need something else in order to make it fit.

Also, my block has been shaved down a while, so I'm gonna need 23.2mm piston deck. Is that possible with a regular ring pattern?

I know CRX=SI did it several times, but I could not find any solid information regarding what kind of rod was used, and also, he was on 86mm bore, which means that the rods have a little more room to go..

And besides, it's a trackday car, and with that big of a stroke, is going to be seing A LOT of stress, I know, but I want to see how far it handles, and it does not need to be revved that much, because from my past experience there, I can tell it's going to reach arround 8300 rpm @ 5 gear in the end of the straight. (stock tranny)

thansk in advance

crx=si used rods which were stock length for the B16A motor and custom pistons that had the wristpins raised half of the difference in stroke between the B16A and the LS strokes (about 6mm). You can do this with stock bore, provided your pistons are machined right.

from what I remember, you can also use (in the B16A blocks) the GSR stroke, provided you find some B17A length rods and the off-the-shelf pistons designed for a 95mm stroker motor.

Hummm, interesting!

I'm going to contact Wiseco to see the possibility/cost of a custom set.

In a normal life situation I would need a 24.2mm deck piston, but to compensate the **** that was made in the block, I now need a 23.2mm deck with +8cc dome. I'd like to try a lightweight design with short skirt. Let me see what they have for me.
