6spd tranny swap??
Okay fellas, I'm sure somebody has thought of this, I tried doing a search but no luck. What is the possibility of swapping a 6spd tranny from let say an RSX or S2000 into a GSR or ITR engine?

Impossible. The RSX and S2000 rotate the opposite direction of the B, D,F, and H series motors. You would have 5 reverses and 1 foward gear. Just think of putting a D series tranny onto a B series block.

well, assuming the bell housing bolts up, or that an adapter kit will come out soon...
if you can pull the tranny apart and flip over the rear end housing (probably not possible, but I haven't studdied it long enough to know) you will have no problems.
I don't think there are any diagrams out on the net, let me whip some out with photoshop to demonstrate much easier than I can explain, please forgive my drawing ability in advance, be back in a few!

Re: 6spd tranny swap?? (samagon)
these diagrams are reallly bad! you have to use your imagination!
in this first diagram we have a conventional RWD car and engine if you look at it from the back of the car down the driveline the rear end gear is on the right of the driveline, so the driveline rotates clockwise and makes the wheels turn forward.
in diagram 2 you see that the rear end gear is now on the left of the driveline, so if the driveline is rotating counter clockwise the wheels will continue to rotate in a forward manner.
if there is anyway to get into the transmission and flip the rear end gear over to the other side, then you can do it, this is all assuming the above that the 6spd will fit into the older body style...
hope this helps, and good luck!
EDIT: btw, if you have any access to the lego, technics, you can get a side gear and a small gear, you can make a mockup of this and see for yourself how it works.

Re: 6spd tranny swap?? (Guardson3r3)
you could probably do it. if the engine bay was located in the back. lols.
anything other than that, go GT!!! sequential transmissions.

So does anyone here have a sequential 6 spd tranny?
I talked to them a couple years ago and they said they would have to custom make the tranny for a honda becuase the motor spins backwards, and it would cost somewhere between 14-16k. I assume they are making them now or is that why the price is still so high?

Yes, the price is still high..
..sequential trannys are money! Especially a custom unit! However, last I heard the Quaife trannys were "only" 7k, not sure about sequential or not? But, if your really serious, the definative name in sequential gearbox's is x-trac, the same company that builds the trannys for CART and F1. Oh, and you would need reverse engineered cams, valvetrain, ignition system, clutch, and your engine bay would have to look something like this:

Re: Yes, the price is still high.. (bb6h22a)
this engine bay looks real familiar. I can't recall though if it was turbo mag or super street. What mag was it on. I wanna read over this again. wait! wait! this was titiled as the world's fastest integ in the scene right now. I'm positive it's an integ. The bay looks real familiar. Thanx for the response
I think it has some sort of irregular type of tranny, cause i see the manifold is located in the front... hmmm

I cnat remember what mag this car was in, but it is a twin-turbo H22 engineered to spin in reverse so that they could slap a six speed on to it.
