That's ridiculous, there is no need to convert to OBD1. You can drop the complete 2000 GSR motor into the 92 Si and simply use an OBD1 P72 ECU. The USDM OBD2 Integra engine harness will plug up to the shock tower chassis plugs and everything will be plug and play. Since the car is already wired for VTEC and a 4 wire O2, all you will need to do is add wiring for the knock sensor and IAB.

Why you want to switch over OBDI since VTECVillain already said to use an OBDI P72 ECU? The whole purpose of running OBDI is just for the simplicity of chipping the ECU.

There is no point in changing the motor's components to the older OBD1 style, you don't need to at the time of the install and you won't need to anytime after. The good thing about EG's is the fact that you can run a complete OBD2 motor and simply use an OBD1 ECU. This makes it easier to get a newer engine with less miles and still get the performance of an OBD1 setup by using the OBD1 ECU and not needing an ECU adapter.

There is another wire on the drivers side that you can tap without going through the dizzy

i have a 0o type r harness in my eg. for the tach u have to tap in to the blue wire from the dizzy and connect it to the blue wire on the driver side shock tower. connecting from the shock tower is just so u don't have to run it to the back of the guage cluster.
the obd 2 dizzy it self has a black/yellow stripe power wire and a all blue negative from it but the engine harness from obd2 only has a wire connecting to the black/yellow wire. so u have to run a link

i wasnt giving him the wrong info. im just stating the fact that running obd 1 gives you more tuning flexibility compared to obd-2. sorry for the misunderstanding guys.

Re: (myhatchrips)
or u can use a chipped p28 and skunk2 mannie, the only wire you would have to run is the blue wire from your driver side strut tower to the blue wire on the distributor, if you have a stock tach. did this swap about a month ago, everything is plug and play, easy swap.

Werd. OBD-2 and OBD-1 = same electronics, same ****. Just differnet plugs on the motor, but like others already said, the GSR engine harness will plug into the EG shock tower plugs. The use of an OBD-1 ECU will plug right in, as well as not look for the additional sensors such as crank angle sensor and 2nd O2 sensor. I don't know how often I have to say OBD-2 and OBD-1 electronics are the same thing.... OBD-2 computers just look for additional sensors and there's just different plugs between OBD-2 & 1.
