2000 civic ex b18b1 swap help
so a friend of mine bought this 00 civic ex with a blown turbo b18c engine in it,i pulled old engine out.i had a b18b1 in my garage so i swapped the new engine in!! the car since it was turbo had a chopped and screwed harness someone ghetto rigged to put bigger injectors added a resistor box and cut some plugs so its trash!! my question is if i acguire another 99-00 ex harness do the iat mod it should be plug and play. i am using a obd2 ls distributor 10 wire, an obd2 alt and i have the obd2b-obd1 jumper harness also the map sensor is on top of the throttle body does it need to be extended or will the harness already be correct? the motor is 99% finished besides the wire harness is there any other parts or wiring missing? thank you almost forgot i have a obd2 ls ecu and an obd1 ls ecu i read the 00 civics have a second o2 sensor wired into the chassis this car had the turbo and manifold removed so we got an aftermarket header but its missing the o2 sensor and i dont recall it having a bung fitting on it, running the obd1 ecu will eliminate the ckp sensor and the second o2 right ? thanks

You'll need obd2 fuel injectors. But this all depends on if this is a "going back to stock" swap. Yes running obd1 will elliminate the ckf and secondary o2.
You'll also need the distributor harness to fit the b-series distributor. See rywire for the adapter harness.

Right, but if you use the 99-00 obd2b civic ex harness you will need that adapter. Now if you were to find the 99-00 EM1 harness it would be no problems with adapters or anything, you'll just need the ecu conversion harness.

Re: 2000 civic ex b18b1 swap help
whats the difference in the ex dizzy plug and the si dizzy plug on the harness side why is an adapter needed if both plugs on harness and obd2 b series dizzy are the same?on a side note the guy that owns this car is too cheap to buy another complete harness,i happened to have an obd1 harness that i think came off an auto civic laying around so i cut and soldered the injector clips to the junk harness that came with the car,and i noticed there was 5 plugs missing the vtps ,vt sol, primary and sec o2 sensor, and the reverse switch.i have an obd2 harness with these plugs on i was going to add to junk harness to make 1 good harness when i striped down the flex loom by the dizzy plug there was a giant gaged grey or silverish wire and im not sure how to match those up the other harness has a giant orange wire that goes up to dizzy plug but not sure if its part of o2 sensors or not?all help is greatly appreciated thank you!!

Re: 2000 civic ex b18b1 swap help
i will post pics in the morning to see if i can identify the junk harness it could possibly be from a 99-00 si since how the car has alot of si parts on it,gauge cluster, seats etc....the guy that owned it before my friend may have used it for the turbo engine.bcuz the dizzy plugs in perfect and both have identical amount of wires on both plugs.why they cut off all the plugs is still a mystery!!!

Take a look at the ex distributor plug and you'll see for yourself, that is if you have it on hand.
If you want to sit there and splice wires be warn, custom wiring has to be done right. Or you will have electrical nightmare.
