Since you are running a B18C1 you will need pistons to raise your compression. OEM ITR, CTR or p30 is fine... valvesprings, retainers, cams and a good engine management system and plenty of tuning would get you there.

it really depends upon labor, the brand of parts you are using and whether they are new or used.
Now you see why it is worth it to just buy a B18C5 or B18C (R)... You get so much more for the price.

Dude, you're in cali. Call around and get some prices.
It will cost you alot less if you can install everything yourself and just pay for tuning.

completely understand where you are coming from. Put yourself on the other end of the table. If you work at or own a shop you are more than likely going to do one of two things, especially here is so cal:
1. talk mad game about why I should build my car at this shop. and talk about a bunch of cars that you never built.
or
2. Low ball the **** out of me and in the end I will be taking it in the shorts.
I want to hear what experiences you guys had.
not to mention price is extremely important. Don't mistake me for a cheap *** because i have no problem paying for good work.

Ok, I understand.
Sounds like you just need to find a good reputable shop that wont jerk you around.
Good luck.
