1996 Civic Hatchback DX with b18c1... will a name brand exhaust bolt perfectly?
I just finished swapping a poor man's type r motor in a 1996 EK hatch. would any name brand catback/exhaust system for the EK hatch bolt on and look right? i was searching through the old posts from several forums and im reading mixed thoughts about it. some says it will be a little longer than usual since the exhaust manifold on the d16 motor is alot shorter than the swapped motor(b18b's, b18c1, h22, etc..)
im a newb to honda/acura so i have not seen many motors.. yet alone manifolds.
what do you guys think? thanks in advance!

it depends what header you have, if oem b18c1 then it'll be too short in my experience...see what some other people say

it would be alot cheaper just to go to an exhaust shop, have them madrel bend some pipes, and hang it. i got mint made and installed for $150.

if you use a GS-R exhaust manifold, mate it up with a OEM gs-r cat and b pipe. Then you could bolt up a axle back meant for a EG/EK hatch.
you can also use a LS exhaust mani, mate it with a LS cat and a LS b-pipe and mate that up to a EG/EK rear axleback.

thanks everyone... i guess i will just bring my car to a muffler shop and have them do a custom setup.
should i go with 2 1/4" piping or 2.5" piping? if it matters, i will be using a high flow cat converter. my mods are listed below. future mods will be at most skunk2 stage 2 cams with valve springs/retainers, and port n polish head.
would 2 1/4 piping be enough? or should i give myself some room with 2.5" piping if i ever decide to get a small shot of nitrous(probably 50 shot). would 2.5" be too much without nitrous?
1996 Civic Hatchback DX
1997 GSR short block (ITR internals)
2000 b16a2 head (ITR cams, springs and retainers)
Type R throttle body
Type R intake manifold
AEM cam gears
AEM fuel rail
DC Header with a 2.25 collector
motor converted to OBD 1 with a chipped p28 ecu

get a 2.5 set up. even though you don't have a header with a 2.5 collector, it will make it easier for you if you upgrade later.
