Default 00 Civic H22 HAsport axle issue (ride height or wrong axles?)

Okay well I recently replaced the clutch on my car and upon finishing it I snapped one of my axles. No biggie as I shoulda checked before hand but didn't and they were already clicking. Now I called HAsport and ordered the same ones, but now I get a really bad vibration when accelerating. Everyone says they are the wrong axles(which I call ), but they are the right part numbers and everything from the site. Could it be that my car is probably too low. I'm probably 2.25" in the front if not a little more, and have debated buying some TEIN SS dampers to raise the front to a more conservative 1.5 and perhaps fix the axle angle. Now my question is has anyone else had this issue? I've searched but haven't really found much and well just want to get everything fixed right as I'm about to sale her and want everything up to par.

So is this an issue with the suspension and axle angle, or are the axles possibly the wrong ones? I don't have the money to get the DSS's again so I settled for HAsports. Any info is greatly appreciated

raising the car up will help

also to make sure the axles are correct you can measure them
take the axle nut off while the car is on the ground
push the axle in
it should sit flush with the hub
there is a 1/4 inch play either way and the axle will still be within spec

Did this and even raised the car up (was 2.25" now is 1.5") I'm still getting a bad vibration that I was not getting before the axles and I double check everything. I was thinking it could be something simple like a alignment, but that wouldn't cause all the binding I don't think. SO.....is there some way that perhaps I got sent the wrong axles, the number on the box is EGHZAX, and I'm using the Hasport mounts. I'm confused, so perhaps some one can give me a little more input otherwise I'll just call you all(HAsport) again 2morrow.

im having the same problem. mines only when the car is under load and accelerating hard, you can feel it in the steering wheel and front end.

im only lowered about 3/4 inch with a full alignment done. and it still persist, i did what hasport said to do bout pulling the axle nut off. that was within spec.

im wondering if one of the joints isnt messed up??? and somehow causing a bind

Yeah, before I had swapped the axles though I had no problems being as low as I was. However I was using DSS axles. This time I decided to go with HASport, but man something is wrong. I think the axle lengths aren't correct and they somehow packaged the wrong axles into the package so I will have to call them up again. I don't want to dish out another 350+ for another set of axles, and I know HAsport makes good quality items. Hell I've used and abused there mounts for over 4 years and no problems, but these axles are pissing me off to where I'm about to just sale my car if I can't fix it soon.

I don't remember who I talked too but I will call today. See I bought the axles from Hmotorsonline, who bought them through HAsport. Only reason I went through HMO is because I was already talking to them about getting my receipt for my engine and well went ahead and bought them.

yea thats where i got mine also.

the only thing i could think of is hasport revised there axles not to long ago and recalled all of the old ones. but some of them might not have got sent back.

and there would be a chance(a very slim chance) that you and myself recieved an old un-revised set.

and how much did the dss axles run you?

They ran a litttle more then 4 bills back in 03-04 like I said. This is the first set of axles I've ever had to replace so they lasted me a long time. I don't take the car to the track though and rarely even get on it. I'm going to give HAsport a call and see if perhaps we can work something out. I hate not being able to take the car for a drive (which I only do on weekends) this past weekend it was so nice and I missed a HT meet.

Well I spoke to HAsport again today, told me to completely remove the axle and measure it. I asked them about the revision but they said it was years ago. So guess I'll find out Friday if they are the wrong ones or whether I'm looking at something else. I'll keep you posted as well so you can fix your problem too.

how are the stage 2 skunk2 cams? im gonna be in the market for cams soon so im trying to figure out which ones to go with.

and i have plx wideband(waiting on the gauge) and s300 on a p30 ecu but no one in my general area to tune it. i think i could make some good gains off of a tune.

They binded whenever the car reached speeds above 10mph turning or straigh line. I measured them and had the guys at HASport make mine custom length and after installing them no noises, no vibrations or anything at any speed.

When I spoke to Keith he told me that the axles should have about 1/4" play on either side, to be flush with the hub. I measured mine with the axle nut off and wheels still on with the car on the ground as per his instructions. While both sides were a little off, the passenger (tranny side) was about .5" an inch. So more then double the allowable criteria. He then said to take them out to double check compress them and measure them, since the first measurement was with them still in the car. The measurement are as follows.

Proper Lengths: ----------------------------------My Measurements:

Passenger--- (right)----22 3/4"------------------22 15/16"
Drivers------- (left)-----22.0"---------------------22 7/16"

So while the passenger side was within the 1/4" limits, the drivers wasn't. He got the numbers down made some others and I got them a couple days later. Did the install which took me about 2hrs as I also did my brakes while I was at it and no vibrations, binding or any noises. Call him up, I'm sure they are willing to help you out and walk you through the measurement process a little more in depth. They sent me another set and told me to just send my others back when I get these installed. I don't know of any other company that would do that so I'm sticking with Hasport from now on. If you need any other help I'm more then happy to walk you through, but I would give Keith a call since he does all the axle measuring. Hope this helps you fix your problem man.
