~~B18C into an LS~~ Difficulty rating please ????
Ok, I think I am going to get a '94 LS to build and turbo so I can leave my '01 GSR alone. I have found one fairly cheap. But I don't care for the idea of dumping alot of $$$ into building an LS motor, when I could be putting it into a GSR motor.
Now I plan to pull the motor and send it to Earl. So I think pulling and replaceing the original motor would definately be the easiest route, but I need to know if I bought a GSR motor and sent it to Earl instead, what it would take to get it in and running in my LS???
Just a new wiring harness and ECU? I searched but I couldn't narrow it down enough, so if anyone can help help me out or point me in the right direction (an LS to GSR swap walk though would be pimp) I would really appreciate it.

Putting a gsr motor into your ls would be very simple.
Of course it would bolt in, exactly like the ls came out.
The only thing you need to do is wire in the following:
-vtec solenoid--run wire from solenoid to pin location A4 at the ecu.
-vtec oil pressure switch-- run wire to D6 and the other wire to a good ground
-Knock sensor- run wire form sensor to D3
-Intake air bypass-run one wire to A17 and the other to a switched 12v source.
Thats it.

The same, except the b17 doesnt use the IAB, so dont worry about that one.
Just use your ls engine harness(like you would with the b18c1 motor, and add the few wires).
Your talking about keeping your stock Ls tranny right?
Because the b17 engine comes with a cable tanny, while your Ls has a hydro tranny.

I was planning to, to save $$. But I guess that means I would need the motor and tranny for either motor?

No, you want to use your ls tranny.
I was making sure you werent getting a b17 tranny, cause it wont work on your car(without a conversion kit).
Any B series motor will bolt to any B series tranny.

Edit: Never mind, that was a dumb question. A built B20 would be about the same as a built LS....might as well just use the LS motor I already have.
I am really in favor of the built GSR...just need to figure out how to come up with the $$.
Does somebody want to trade me their blown B18C1 long block for my running B18A/B ????
