Icon5 [OBD2A in OBD1] - ECU Diagnosis?

Hello friends,
I'm in the process of adding a JDM B18C ITR to my 95 Del Sol S. I have a OBD2A -> OBD1 ecu jumper because I wanted to use the motor's original ECU.

I have everything set as far as wiring, conversion parts, etc... my question is if I have a check engine light with a jumped OBD2A ECU in an OBD1 car, what's my best course of action?
I won't have an OBD2 port to hook a diagnosis tool up to. Does the OBD1 blinking dash light method carry over or am I just out of luck?

I've researched and I haven't seen many responses pertaining to OBD2A jumped into an OBD1 car, the responses I saw were not clear or specific to my layout.

Also, this is my first post and I've used this site for a lot of my research, I wanted to thank everyone for their contributions and efforts, it's helped me a great deal.

The flashing CEL function will still work with the JDM ITR ECU. Also, just so you you understand the terminology with respect to the adapter harness... it is generally described as current chassis/ECU style to new ECU being used. In the case that you have described here, that would be referred to as an OBD-1 -> OBD-2A style adapter... since your chassis is a '95 OBD-1 Del Sol and you intend to use a '96-99 ITR ECU.

Thanks for the heads up, also glad to know the flashing will remain.
