Just a little experiment F22A6/F22B2 SOHC blocks to CRV DOHC head PPA-2
I am an open minded person that loves to tinker and explore and i've always wondered if any Acura/Honda parts are all interchangeable with another all across sohc dohc vtec & non since it seems there are already known hybrids such as D15B7 block with D16Z6 vtec head, LS/VTEC, B20 blocks with B16 or B18 heads, K20 head to K24 block, F/H series sohc/dohc etc. So why couldn't a crv dohc head work on a F22 sohc block? So here i tinker with what i have just for information purposes. Cuz i like to know why and actually try and explore this possiblity or like mythbusters what will it take to make it happen. So heres what i got sofar...
Honda CRV PPA-2 DOHC cylinderhead valvetrain view
Honda CRV PPA-2 DOHC cylinderhead combustion chambers view
Honda CRV PPA-2 DOHC cylinderhead comparing with Accord F22B2 SOHC nonvtec head gasket. So it over all can bolt right on but the oil ports & oil drains is of concern. I plan to experiment with other head gaskets

Cool idea man. Crazy how well the bore spacing on the headgasket lines up. Should be doable with filling some of the oil drain backs and finding the right length timing belt, tensioner and water pump.

thread title says the PPA-2 is from a B20Z1, it is from a K24. K-series and F-series share a lot of basic dimensions. B-series and F-series not so much.

i mean if i worked or owned a scrap yard i'd be playing with everything available. There are already so many Acura/Honda/Isuzu part interchangeable of various year models we have retrofitted or frankenstein build to personalize and/or make unique and faster or rare option over the years.

So, what then is the best "way" to rebuild the f22b2 head? Cam upgrade possible? What kinda budget friendly upgrades are there other than port an polish?
