Temperature gauge on the dash reads cool. Radiator fan kicks on and shortly after coolant starts to backup in the overflow tank before spraying out of the top. Sounds like the coolant into the overflow is working as it should. When it hits operating temp, it is probably also at operating PRESSURE. Meaning the cap will bleed off overflow to keep it at ~16psi, otherwise pressure would keep rising. The leak below sounds like a minor crack or your radiator's petcock o-ring is shot.

H2B oil pan sold.

Thanks, Eddie! Nice meeting you.

Going to make changing my oil this week about $20 cheaper, though

I just saw Private labal H2b Kit and it look so much like QSD kit! Im still with the QSD no matter what. Is QSD the founder of H2B?

H2B is simply an H motor with a B transmission, it's just phraseology, no one invented it per se.

Seth just jumped into it and developed the best kit there is for the concept

Technically you can do it without a kit, but it's not safe, obviously.

New to this forum, but after 2 months building my h2b finally got it starting. The most crucial part of this build was the REsleeving of the engine with cast iron sleeves after that it was easy. I got to use rdx injectors with a k20z3 manifold with a k24 crankshaft.
Thanks guys with all great info in this thread
heres my vid thanks

I have a 94 del sol. I am seriously debating going h2b since i have all the original b16 swap. I noticed there are a few kits. Which do you guys prefer and which gives you the most clearance on the driverside? Anybody have pics of the clearance and how much "pounding" was done to make it fit with and without the timing covers and balance shaft gear?

go to my post, #3 on the link below. It will answer your question. I am using the QSD kit. It leaves the transmission and all components in the original location.

Yeah I'm running 80a and I hear a fair amount of interior rattling. Everyone tells me the car runs super smooth though. It's totally stock though, no harsh cams or anything.

hey how did you guys bleed your cooling system on the h2b im having a hard time. it could be too that my thermostat isnt working because it starts to over heat and the hoses gets hard... however, when i open the valve and rev the motor and no coolant comes out, just steam.. what do you guys think?

i put up all my bseries stuff and turbo stuff up for sale. I want in this h2b thing. But I have a few more questions before I go into buy mode.
Which h2b is more preferred? Ive seen even bisimoto has a kit.
What axles can I use?
Which mounts do I use?
Anything special with the fuel line I need to do?
Can the engine fit without removing the balance shaft gears?

Sorry if its alot. Ive done hundreds of bseries swaps. But H is a new frontier for me. Thanks!!

QSD is definitely the most popular. It's cheaper and allows more freedom in the use of some parts. It essentially makes the swap a b-series to put it simply.

I use Autozone Axles, 2 autocross seasons and 40,000 miles and they're holding up fine.

B-series mounts. Really.

Not unless you have an Accord motor like me, my fuel line had to be swapped around. Not a big deal.

Removing the balance shaft assembly isn't for fitment, it's to remove 10-14lbs from the rotating assembly, much like taking weight off of the flywheel.

I have an 8lb flywheel and balance shaft removed, my engine revs like crazy.

The QSD kit essentially turns and H22 into a b-series swap. If you get OEM ish axles with pretty narrow shafts you won't have to trim much on the oil pan. Also you'll have better clearance with your hood.

I see. seems pretty straightforward. Ive been on qsd website and see what comes with the kit. Getting excited to get this started. Have you gone to a manual tensioner? I see that Kaizen makes a manual tensioner kit which looks way cleaner and gets rid of the long *** tensioner bolt. I am probably just going to remove the balance shaft belt if possible. I just dont want any rediculous vibrations at idle like if I was driving an ef with a bseries.

Any particular h series I should pick up? I see that the SH is totally different and I dont want to mess with it. Its going into an eg. Would it be easier to pick up one same time frame? Arent the dizzy plugs the same? I am going to use my hondata so I plan on using some 440cc injector I have

Manual tensioner and balance shaft delete are a must in my opinion. Definitely the tensioner beyond a shadow of a doubt.

I daily drive mine with no balance shafts and 80a mounts and it's very tolerable. My girlfriend only complains about my suspension.
