change the ratio of your final drive gear.
stock is 4.10 .. bumping to 4.44, 4.56, or 4.77 will give you a better powerband at the expense of top speed.

Sounds like a good idea. Any clue as to how much that would cost? (i live in West Canada) And how much would i be knocking off the top speed?

Cheers.

it'll cost you in the ball park <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Jimihendrix &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">"change the ratio of your final drive gear.

it'll cost you in the ball park of around $1000.00 us dollars. and the top speed isn't anything to be worried about. how often do you make it to 150mph? If you can even get it goin that fast.

there's some reported whining issue with the kia gear according to some owner in s2ki.com

I was about to group order 4.56 with a friend of mine before i got pulled for speeding

the gear itself is not even that expensive, the labor is almost half of the cost.

ok, enough with the WHINE.....
if you want/have gears then chances are you have a exhaust, chances are you have a stereo as well..... so you wont hear no WHINE.....
