Nope, not true. Hardtops are aesthetic only. The s2000 needs to be stored in the garage if there is any rain fall. Be prepared to soak up a lot of water with your bounty if its caught in the rain.

Seriously though I test drove a S2000 and a few days later test drove a rsx type s (i think) and was somewhat let down. No offense it was great compaired to my previous cars (95 accord and 95 240sx) but it's a different type of car than the s. A better comparison would be a 350z and s2000, those where my final two and I ended up going with the S2000. Convertible, 9000 rpm, 2800 lbs. I'll never go back to FWD.
Hope that helps

from the way you're describing things, you'd be better off with an rsx. whenever you do find the one you want, be sure to get it a pre-purchase inspection for it. it's small price to pay for quality assurance. companies like aim mobile inspections offer this service for a fairly reasonable price. good luck shopping!

I dont have one, but my friend drives his s2 all winter with ****ing summer tires on it.
One day he calls me hes like dude i spun out, I'm off the road like 50 yards almost hit a tree. ****ing kid decided to vtec it when it wasn't even that bad out but was like 35 degrees and kind of wet. His tires broke loose at like 70 because they were so cold apparently. Not smart.

Is this going to be your first rear wheel drive car? The AP1 01-03 did not come with any driver aid besides ABS. I've heard and seen a lot of horror stories about people wrapping there AP1s around tree's or spinning out on the highway. Just drive smart and make sure tire tread depth is above 4/32 at all times. I know its probably out of your price range, but the 06-08 s2000 came with VSA (Vehicle Stability Assistant) which helps out a lot for novice rear wheel drivers. <Me
