I don't know why it says that, but you have to drill through the floor in 4 places, and in the soft top tray area in 2 places. The 6-pt's conform around the dash.

Oh i get what you are talking about now. I have personally never seen the one that goes through the dash, in fact i don't think there are hardly any people who have this one. Just get the one that doesn't go through the dash.
Also this 6pt is not recommended for daily driving because of accident possibilities and you wont be wearing a helmet on the street.

6 places.
2 in front of dash
2 behind seats
2 in between the trunk and seats
most people remove that tray because its a pita to cut properly.

And also, if there are rubbing issues? </TD></TR></TABLE>
Most don't rub if installed properly. You can use soft top. The install process is a bitch..took me about 7 hours. If you have access to a lift, use it. I also recommend a buddy to help.

You will need a corded drill, and i forget which size bit, but use titanium drill bits (thank you father for that wonderful present 3 years ago). Its covered up by the roll bar. In a nutshell, you drill through the body, insert 4 bolts on each pt. of the roll bar, place the mounting bracket underneath the car, and bolt it up with nuts. You can either cut the carpet or not...i drilled straight through.

Re: (LAS2K)
Please note that this bar (or the Safety21) does not pass SCCA specs as far as I know. Even higher class HPDE events have frowned on this as well.
Nice looking bar though, I wish I could find an SCCA/HPDE approved bar for the S2000 that looks nice. Currently, it is up to the individual track's tech guy if he will pass you or not. That's what research on here and s2k has told me. I even called the national and regional NASA offices.
