S2000: Gone
The Honda website updated and finally removed the S2000 from their line-up. Now included, the Honda Crosstour.
 |
Re: S2000: Gone
lol yeah it's a sad thing.. gonna hold onto mine forever :)

Re: S2000: Gone
It was bound to happen. That's life!

Re: S2000: Gone
Too bad, it was the last vehicle built by Honda that I still liked. Every current model left in their line up (including Acura) is UGLY. RIP s2000

Re: S2000: Gone
..the car was around for 9 years....
It was getting stale and the competition was way out of it's league. Everyone else got an upgrayyedd. The S2000 stayed pretty much the same. It was WAY ahead of the competition back in 00...but it started to get out matched as the years went on. Ex: back in 00, the S2000 would have destroyed the Boxster or the Z3. It really had no good competition in terms of performance in it's price range...in any category of new model year car. Maybe a base Corvette vs. S2000 would have been a good match up. But that's about it. The 350Z came out. The 350Z vs. S2000 was a good show down. Then cars like the 370z came out... 370Z vs S2000 is a good beat down. Same with the 135i...or new M3...or C6 vettes. Basically, it's about time the S2000 either upgrayydded or left while it was somewhat ahead to prevent further embarassment. |
Re: S2000: Gone
I seen that, I wonder what will be the next fun sport car to come from Honda?
|
Re: S2000: Gone
noooooo way, the S2000 is discontinued!!! I just put a down payment on a 2010 model... shiiit i better be able to get my money back...
|
Re: S2000: Gone
Yeah I love s2ks I can't believe they discontinued them.
|
Re: S2000: Gone
Can't believe?
The sad thing is we'll probably never see another roadster like it from Honda. |
Re: S2000: Gone
^-- thats alright by me, by the time the next "fun" honda comes out i'll finally be able to afford a new car. :)
|
Re: S2000: Gone
maybe they'll just wait a few years and come out with a 2-seat electric car. at least we know that if they do that it'll have a lot of torque.
|
Re: S2000: Gone
Good. The less there are the more mine will be worth some day.

CRZ 2 seat 6spd manual hybrid will be here next year...not exactly an S2000 but at least its a manual hybrid 2 seater with good looks. When the economy picks up the OSM will be back on schedule and in show rooms in a few years. It will come |
Re: S2000: Gone
The CRZ is FWD. Weak.
The S2000 and NSX were Hondas only sports cars since the S800 went out. So figure we'll have another real sports car from Honda in like 20 years if that pattern holds true. If you're looking at somewhat affordable sports cars...figure like 30 years. The NSX came out in 91...but wasn't exactly affordable. I guess the S2000 wasn't too affordable when it came out...but shelling out $20-30k for a used one back in 02 was still within reach. We'll have to make do with Civics and CRZs for now. |

Re: S2000: Gone
this just an open question:
what would you want to see as a replacement for the s2000? ex: engine displacement, seating, aspects of the car you don't like and would like improved, etc. |
