Q: USA/Canada S2K fuel level sender different to UK
Hi Folks,
I'm on with wiring up my AE86 at the minute and I'm trying to figure out how to get the AE86 fuel level sender working on the s2000 clocks. The resistence range is massively different between the two which is a pain.
Base upon what I know about UK-spec S2000's is that the level sender is on the same cartridge as the fuel pump like so...
The AE86 sender is like this...
So the resistence ranges are not even close to being compatible linear/non-linear
I am lead to believe that the USA and Canada spec S2000's have the fuel level sender on a separate cartridge (the tank has 2 instead of 1 like in the UK) - and the S2000 sender cartridge drops straight into the AE86 fuel tank where its regular sender would be.
If this is the case do you guys know where I would get one from ? My whole S2K salvage is from a UK AP2 (newer clocks) I think. This is the only part of the cluster that I wont get to work correctly (I have no need for lots of it like seatbelt lights, airbag light, cruise light, door open lights etc)
